Great Interest in Electric Propulsion Technology

About 100 people from around the world gathered in the auditorium to hear more about the latest development in electric propulsion technology. For two days, the participants listened to speakers from the industry and academia giving the perspective of both end-users and suppliers of materials and electric drives. The end-user perspective covered a wide range of applications, from electric bicycles and cars to loaders, refuse trucks, city busses and heavy special vehicles such as military vehicles.
A number of different motor topologies were presented during the seminar, for instance the Yokeless and Segmented Armature (YASA) motor by Oxford YASA Motors and Höganäs’ Modulated Pole Motor presented by Application Development Manager Lars Sjöberg.
The seminar ended with a visiting tour of Höganäs PoP (Power of Powder) Application Development Centre. The participants were guided through the different service stations and laboratories, including Höganäs’ motor laboratory. One largely appreciated activity was the test riding of a number of electric vehicles in the harbour of Höganäs where an electric car, electric scooters and a number of Höganäs PoP bike were available.
